The HCA Boat Fishing Club was founded in 2002 by a group of people who enjoyed the sport of boat angling out in the River Humber. The clubs head quarters are based at the Humber Cruising Association marina within Grimsby Fish Docks. Although the club started with just a handful of members it soon grew into probably the biggest boat angling club on the East Coast of the UK.
The club now boasts in excess of 250 members of all ages fishing from around 150 boats. Some of the boats launch from Cleethorpes beach whilst the vast majority of boats are moored in the HCA Marina. Boats range from 15ft cuddy's to 40ft cruisers which include yachts. .
The fishing club have kindly been allowed to hold their monthly meetings at the marina bar along with many other annual functions. The monthly meeting takes place on the last Wednesday of each month and normally starts at around 19:30. Everybody is welcome at the meetings, If you have an interest in boat angling in the Humber pop along and have a chat.
The HCA Fishing Club has been lucky enough to attract several sponsors over the years which in turn has helped the club host probably the largest boat fishing match each year on the East Coast. The committee and club members would like to thank all the sponsors over the years for their kind donations which enabled the club to firstly hold some truly fantastic matched but more importantly assist the club in raising in excess of £40,000 for well deserving local charity's which include the RNLI
Special thanks go to Baitbox who have been the clubs main sponsor for several years now. For 2016 / 17, Baitbox have doubled the contribution they give for all whiting weighed In at all matches. All proceeds from this process goes straight to the clubs chosen charity.
